Attracting young children to tennis is of high priority for, coaching firm, SMASH Tennis UK. The team of Craig Leese and Jack Redfern are mid-way through a free six-week coaching programme launched by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) aptly named, Tennis for Kids.
Based at Draycott Racquet and Fitness Club, the course is designed to appeal to beginners to the sport. Teaching children basic co-ordination skills relevant to tennis, with the hope that the next Andy Murray, will be produced.
SMASH Tennis UK, are aiming for a retention rate of 100% from the three courses being delivered by the team of coaches. This would result in 30 children continuing with the coaching programme and successfully implementing the LTA’s scheme.
