NOTICE is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council on 14 August 2018 made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in that length of Caverswall Road in Blythe Bridge from its junction with Caverswall Old Road to its junction with A521 Uttoxeter Road unless the vehicle is being used in connection with the works. Gated Marshall to allow access for local residents – pedestrian, frontage and emergency services.

Uttoxeter Road Closed

The A521 Uttoxeter Road in Blythe Bridge, near Stoke-on-Trent, will be closed both sides of the level crossing from Sunday 8th April 2018 for approximately a week while emergency gas works take place. Engineers will be tracing and repairing a gas leak near the level crossing. A diversion route will be in place via the B5029 Grindley Lane, A50 Uttoxeter Road, A521 Uttoxeter Road.

Access will be maintained to homes and businesses within the road closure and to Caverswall Road. Pedestrian access will be maintained to Blythe Bridge Station and every effort will be made to maintain access to the station car park for vehicles. The work is expected to take a week but we will make every effort to finish it as soon as possible. Businesses will be open as usual in the village and train services will not be affected. We will keep people updated

Forsbrook Parish Council has applied to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for designation of the parish as a Neighbourhood Plan Area.

This is the first step towards preparation of the Forsbrook Neighbourhood Development Plan.

that a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council.

If by 23 October, 2017 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

If an election is called, it will take place not later than 27 December, 2017.

Street Soccer starts 24th July

Leek Town Community Sports Football Coaches will be holding free football sessions for young people aged between 8 & 18.
Two coaches will be present at each session who are fully CRB checked.
Sessions will be 7pm until 8pm commencing 24th July 2017 to 1st September 2017 in the locations shown below:

Blythe Bridge & Forsbrook Charity Fayre

At Foxfield Railway on Saturday 1st July 2017

This event is now in its 2nd year and the idea behind it is to raise both funds & awareness for all local charities and for the whole community from the young to the elderly and families. There are more and more groups, clubs and established organisations who need your help in maintaining their roles in the ever expanding voluntary sector. These groups, all locally based, will both be at the event to raise funds directly and / or may benefit from any surplus generated from this event.

Attracting young children to tennis is of high priority for, coaching firm, SMASH Tennis UK. The team of Craig Leese and Jack Redfern are mid-way through a free six-week coaching programme launched by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) aptly named, Tennis for Kids.
